Interview with a Patient Who Received Services at KIN
Throughout a Two-Month Rehabilitation Period
Ms. Oi: Hello. My name is Oi, and I am the nurse in charge. You are returning home today, correct? I have a few questions for you. Would it be convenient for you to answer them? You have been staying with us for two months. How do you feel? Have you noticed any changes in yourself?
Patient: I can see changes in myself.
Ms. Oi: You can see the changes in yourself.
Ms. Oi: What are you able to do better now?
Patient: I have improved a lot.
Ms. Oi: You have improved significantly and can walk farther now.
Patient: Farther.
Ms. Oi: Has your balance improved?
Patient: It has improved.
Ms. Oi: It has improved considerably.
Ms. Oi: You are more confident when walking. When speaking, are you able to recall more words?
Patient: The words gradually come back, especially when someone talks with me.
Ms. Oi: When someone starts a conversation, you can continue talking more easily. That is excellent.
Ms. Oi: What has impressed you during your stay at KIN?
Patient: I have been impressed by everything.
Ms. Oi: Everything?
Patient: Everything and everyone here.
Ms. Oi: Including all the staff members?
Ms. Oi: Is there anything you would like to say to us?
Patient: I made friends, met different people, and had meals together with everyone. Experiences like that were very meaningful.
Ms. Oi: You have made many more friends.
Ms. Oi: Thank you very much.
Patient: Thank you.
Ms. Oi: Let us take a photograph with the staff.
