Thank You to Everyone Who Joined Our Second Open House at KIN Origin Rehab Center
KIN Origin Rehab Center sincerely thanks everyone who took the time to join our second Open House, held on 15 February 2025. The event was an important opportunity to share knowledge and healthcare guidance aimed at reducing the risk of stroke, one of the leading health threats affecting people in Thailand.
The event received an excellent response from all participants, including members of the public, people at risk of stroke, patients seeking rehabilitation, and patients’ relatives and caregivers. Everyone showed strong interest and took part in activities throughout the event. We were honoured to share useful knowledge and help participants better understand appropriate approaches to stroke prevention and rehabilitation.
Summary of Activities at the Second Open House
1. Special Lecture: “Know the Risks, Prevent Stroke! How Can You Reduce Your Risk?”
One of the main highlights was an educational lecture presenting important information about stroke, described in the source as the second leading cause of death among people in Thailand. The lecture covered:
- Causes and risk factors for stroke, including high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, irregular heartbeat, smoking, alcohol consumption, and lifestyle behaviours that affect brain health
- Types of stroke, including:
Ischaemic Stroke, caused by a blocked blood vessel
Haemorrhagic Stroke, caused by a ruptured blood vessel in the brain
TIA (Transient Ischaemic Attack), or temporary interruption of blood flow, an important warning sign that should not be ignored
- Stroke warning signs using the B-E-F-A-S-T principle, helping people respond promptly
- Approaches to prevention and risk reduction, including controlling blood pressure, reducing blood sugar, improving eating habits, and exercising regularly

2. Tour of the Sleep Test Centre and Trial of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
After the lecture, participants had the opportunity to visit the Sleep Test centre, one of KIN Origin Rehab Center’s key service areas.
- Sleep Test — What Is It?
A Sleep Test analyses a person’s sleep and may be suitable for people with Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA). The source describes this condition as a risk factor that may contribute to stroke. Participants received guidance on the importance of quality sleep and approaches to managing abnormal sleep problems.

- Try the Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) system
Another highlight was a demonstration of HBOT (Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy), or high-pressure oxygen therapy. The source describes it as an innovation that increases oxygen in the bloodstream and may support brain recovery and brain-cell health. Participants had the opportunity to try the equipment and receive explanations from specialists.
